Lesson: Understanding Your Alerts
Alerts are how Cyber Assist keeps you in the loop — letting you know what’s happening on your device in real time, without you needing to go looking for it.
Types of alerts you might see:
- Threat Blocked — Malware, phishing, or a suspicious file was caught and stopped automatically
- Suspicious Activity Detected — Unusual behavior flagged for review, sometimes with a follow-up
- Update Installed — A patch or system update was applied, usually overnight
- Performance Alert — Something like low storage or high resource use that could slow your device down
- Monitoring Interrupted — Your device went offline, so monitoring paused until it reconnects
What to do when you get one:
- Most alerts are informational only — your protection already handled it, no action needed
- If an alert does need something from you (like freeing up storage), it’ll say so clearly
- Not sure what an alert means? Ask your Support Chat — it can explain any alert in plain language
- If something feels off or urgent, don’t just dismiss it — a quick message to chat can confirm whether it’s routine
What alerts are not:
- Not a request for your password, personal information, or payment details — a real Cyber Assist alert never asks for these
- Not billable — reviewing an alert with Support Chat is always included in your subscription
